Dr. Draughn is a Board Certified General Surgeon, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology.  He has 23 years of experience with the management of this disease process. We have two locations to serve you, in Charlotte and Gastonia, NC.

Education-Medical Training

David Gardner Draughn, MD, FACS, RVT, RPVI graduated Cum Laude from Millsaps College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Draughn received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi in 1987. Dr. Draughn completed his surgical residency training from 1988-1993 at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, becoming the Chief Resident of General Surgery in 1992.  He scored in the top 10% in the nation on his Surgical Boards.

Personal

Dr. Draughn is married and the father of two children.  Dr. Draughn is an avid water skier, and an active church member who resides in Gastonia, NC.  His interest in designing medical devices in support of surgical procedures has propelled him to patent several medical devices of his own.

He has been an active member of the surgical community for over 15 years, and holds numerous appointments and chairs on several surgical committees. Dr. Draughn is standing by to provide you the best possible medical care that his training and experience can provide.
